Diocesan Convention
Youth Representatives
Each year 8 seats are set aside at our Diocesan Convention to insure that the voice of youth is heard.
We are currently accepting applications for those positions through April 22.
There is one slot designated for each deanery. The young people who fill those slots have over the years been an important part of the governance of our diocese. They have both inspired the diocese and upon occasion called us to task. Consequently this role is one of the premier leadership positions for a youth in the Diocese of Western New York.
A candidate for the position of Diocesan Convention Youth Representative should be able to meet the following requirements:
- Should currently be in grades 8-11
- Is available and committed to attending a training meeting Sunday May 20 following Youth Commission (training beginning around 5 PM) at St. Patrick's Cheektowaga; a pre-convention meeting October 14 at 2 PM (location TBD) and BOTH days of Convention October 26-27.
- Is prepared to work on a possible delegation project
- Is willing and able to present themselves in a manner consistent with the importance of the role and the convention. This means both in appearance and presentation.
- Has completed application and recommendation paperwork prior to April 22, 2012

A Spiritual Retreat for Middle School Youth
Our newest youth program,
Journeys Weekend #3 will happen in
October 5-7, 2012.
The Journeys program was developed here in WNY. Even the logo was done by young people!
It is designed to help younger youth begin a serious examination of faith in a fun, activity filled environment that is both spiritual and fun!
It also provides additional leadership opportunities for older youth as leaders of the weekend.
