Camp simply could not happen without the great volunteers, lay and clergy, who work as our staff at each one. Each year we need a variety of folks to fill roles at all three of our camps. They include:
Chaplain - an ordained person who has pastoral care for the camp. They will lead/coordinate all the worship services during the event. They are also usually our -
Program Leader - this person leads the camp through our contemplation of the camp theme. (Upon rare occasions the program leader and chaplain are different people)
Senior Counselor - This person is in charge of a cabin or group of campers. He/she will work with them and be their companion/mentor during the camp. A Senior Counselor must qualify as a "supervising adult" under the Youth Commission guidelines. This staff person often has additional duties during camp (check with camp director for details)
Junior/Assistant Counselor - positions at Sleep Away and Junior High camp. They work under the direction of a Senior Counselor or other supervising adult. Persons in these roles must be a full year away from participation at the camp they wish to serve AT MINIMUM. A Junior/Assistant counselor will have additional duties during camp (check with camp director for details)
Camp Nurse - A qualified medical person who can distribute and/or administer campers prescription drugs. Looks after the well being of all members of the camp.
Music Leader - Usually also a Senior or Junior/Assistant counselor. Leads music for worship and other times for camp.
